Our HelperShield Insurance covers more than just employees' compensation to help you meet your obligations as an employer of a local (part-time) domestic helper, postnatal care helper, or foreign domestic helper.

Major exclusions

  • Any helper not in your immediate employment
  • Suicide and self-inflicted injuries
  • Routine or general medical check-ups
  • Pregnancy or its complications
  • Any treatment in connection with drugs or alcohol
  • HIV and any HIV related illness including AIDS
  • Applicable to Sections 2, 3, 4 and 8, any claim from the bodily injury, sickness or disease sustained before the policy inception date and incurred medical treatment within the 3 consecutive months before the policy inception date.  If no medical treatment is incurred on such bodily injury, sickness or disease within 3 consecutive months immediately after inception of the insured helper's insurance, benefits under these Sections shall subsequently become effective

Eligibility

Applicant:

  • Hong Kong identity card holder
  • aged 18 or above
  • in Hong Kong SAR when applying for this insurance
  • enter into an employment contract with the helper 
  • paid premium by HSBC credit card (Visa/MasterCard) issued in Hong Kong

The above policy is underwritten by AXA General Insurance Hong Kong Limited ("AXA"), which is authorised and regulated by the Insurance Authority of the Hong Kong SAR. For monetary disputes arising between HSBC and you out of the selling process or processing of the related transaction by HSBC, HSBC will enter into a Financial Dispute Resolution Scheme process with you. On the other hand, for any disputes over the terms and conditions of your policy, AXA will resolve with you directly.
