Choose 'Open investment account'
Review your details and choose a settlement account to fund your investments
Submit a valid proof of address, and a consent form if needed (see our FAQs)
Complete our short questionnaire
Review our terms and conditions then submit your application

Once you've opened your account, go to Investor Profile and complete the required questionnaires, including the Risk Profiling Questionnaire, to get ready to invest.

You can use any of these as address proof:

A bank statement
A utility bill, such as gas, electricity etc.
A document issued by a government department or tertiary institution

Your document must:

Have been issued within the last 3 months
Show the same address you have registered with HSBC

If you work at a financial institution, you need to fill in a consent form for SFC regulated customers. Just bring it, along with your HKID or valid identity and proof of address, to a branch to complete your application.

Please visit us in a branch if you can't complete your application online. You'll need to bring your HKID or valid identity, and a valid proof of address.
