Managing your personal MPF account

You can check your account balances:

• in HSBC Online Banking or on the HSBC HK Mobile Banking app
• by calling our HSBC MPF member hotline on (852) 3128 0128—for details on service options, please refer to the 'HSBC MPF member hotline' section in the member service guide
• at any HSBC or Hang Seng Bank ATM
• by checking your consolidated bank statement—available to HSBC Global Private Banking, HSBC Premier Elite, HSBC Premier, HSBC One and Personal Integrated customers, subject to circumstances; for details, please refer to the 'Mail statements' section in the member service guide

You can make an unlimited number of fund switches per year, without any handling charges.

However, we would remind you that the objective of MPF is to save for retirement, So your investment objectives should be for the longer term and you should take your personal circumstances into consideration.

If a typhoon signal no. 8 or higher, storm signal and/or black rainstorm warning signal is hoisted before 9:00am and is still in force at 12:00pm on a business day, your instructions will be processed on the next business day instead.

If such a signal is hoisted after 9:00am or cancelled at or before 12:00pm, your instructions will be processed as scheduled on that business day.

Yes, you can change your investment allocations through any of these four ways.

Portfolio rebalance

You can change the investment allocation of your existing investments and new contributions, including but not limited to the accrued benefits transferred from another registered scheme. The necessary units will be redeemed to rebalance existing investments in your portfolio.

Asset switch

You can choose to switch all or some of the units from one or more constituent funds. Then, you can reallocate the redeemed amounts to another constituent fund or across a number of constituent funds.

The investment allocation of your new contributions, including but not limited to the accrued benefits transferred from another registered scheme, will remain unchanged.

Contribution redirection

You can opt to change the investment allocation of your new contributions, including but not limited to the accrued benefits transferred from another registered scheme. The investment allocation of your existing contributions will remain unchanged.

Leave the Default Investment Strategy (DIS)

All your existing investments, future contributions and accrued benefits as transferred from another registered scheme will be invested according to the investment allocation at the time you left the DIS. They will not be reweighted or automatically de-risked in the future, per the DIS.

You can submit your instructions to rebalance or switch funds online, via the mobile app or the Interactive Voice Response System (IRVS). If you submit them before 4:00pm on a business day, they will be processed on the same day. Otherwise, they will be processed on the next business day.

We generally acknowledge that we've received your message by the next business day, and aim to resolve issues within 5 business days. We may occasionally need more time and if we do, we'll keep you updated.

Handling your complaint

We will direct your complaint to the dedicated team that has the appropriate experience and authority to handle it with complete confidentiality. It won't involve anyone who was directly involved in the matter.

If a third party raised the complaint, we'll get back to you directly to protect your privacy.

We will offer appropriate redress if your complaint is upheld but this will not necessarily involve financial compensation.

If you’re not satisfied

You can ask for higher-level management to review your case if you're dissatisfied with our decision.
